Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus

Before you start15 missables
Difficulty
Starting on hardest is not required. Use Very Hard on the first ordinary run only if comfortable with the combat; it can earn both difficulty achievements. Learn on Normal/Casual if needed and keep a manual pre-finale save for a separate Very Hard attempt. Avoid pairing Very Hard with your first Ironman/Permadeath run.
Difficulty details

Very Hard combat, campaign time management and permanent priest losses demand preparation. The plan separates the harsh settings and uses easier presets for restricted runs.

Unofficial Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus 100% achievement guide: how to unlock all 34 achievements, with step-by-step directions and landmarks. Tick them off as you play.

Playthrough planner

A relaxed three-campaign order covering all 34 Steam achievements. It avoids stacking Very Hard, weapon restrictions and permanent-loss rules on a first playthrough. Targets show overall Steam progress, not separate campaign completion.

  • Keep achievement eligibility enabled throughout. A green marker beside one option does not override a global achievements-disabled warning.
  • Ordinary side missions close at 100% global awakening, and victory against Szaregon ends the campaign. Finish the run’s route and reward goals before either cutoff.
  • Troop unlocks can move between missions. Check reward previews before each deployment and retry an outstanding troop in a later run if necessary.
  • A two-run route can combine the restrictions, but the three-run plan is easier to manage. Manual alternate-ending saves do not replace the need to finish an Ironman campaign.
Playthrough 1 — Scaevola, roster and hidden missions

Needs Heretek.

Set up: New campaign with manual saves, ordinary weapons and canticles, Ironman/Permadeath off, Heretek on. Use Very Hard if comfortable; Normal or Casual is fine while learning.

Aim for: Build the cohort, unlock every troop, finish Tiresus and Scaevola, and clear the subordinate lords before the early final victory. Aim for Hard/Impossible here if you use Very Hard; otherwise save those two targets for a later Very Hard finale.

Leave for later: Leave Videx’s ending and weapon/canticle/start-money restrictions for Playthrough 2, and Ironman/Permadeath for Playthrough 3. Repeat a missing troop unlock in a later campaign if its reward never appeared.

Before moving on

  • Leave Skip Tutorial off and complete one mission without activating a canticle.
  • Inspect Khepra’s rewards for priest recruits and all advisers’ rewards for troops. Finish two Discipline trees on one priest.
  • From about 20% awakening, hold Space on the bridge and check Tiresus after deployments; complete The Seventh Seal.
  • Finish Scaevola through The Verge of Omniscience while leaving Videx’s Into the Breach unfinished.
  • Before Twilight of the Gods: confirm six priests, all troop targets, both full trees, the hidden boss and at least 50% but less than 100% global awakening.
Playthrough 2 — Videx and four starting restrictions

Set up: New Casual campaign with manual saves. Set Available Weapons: Melee Only; Enable AoE Weapons: off; Starting Blackstone: 0; Maximum Canticles Per Mission: 0. Leave Ironman/Permadeath off.

Aim for: Finish Videx’s ending while earning the melee-only, AoE-off, zero-starting-Blackstone and zero-canticle campaign achievements. Use mission earnings to upgrade the cohort; the zero-start condition does not prohibit later spending.

Leave for later: Use ordinary weapons again on Playthrough 3. If Very Hard remains outstanding, use a separate eligible finale attempt on a manual save or add a dedicated difficulty campaign rather than forcing it into the restricted run.

Before moving on

  • Read the overall achievements-enabled warning before confirming New Game. Explicitly set all four options even where they overlap.
  • Build healing and cognition support, then improve axes and movement for the melee priests.
  • Keep Scaevola’s The Verge of Omniscience unfinished; complete Videx’s chain through Into the Breach.
  • Defeat the subordinate lords and finish Videx’s route before the awakening cutoff, then win Twilight of the Gods.
Playthrough 3 — Ironman and Permadeath

Set up: New Casual campaign with Enable Ironman and Enable Permadeath on. Use ordinary weapons, AoE and canticles; keep other custom options at achievement-eligible defaults.

Aim for: Complete a campaign with both permanent-loss rules enabled. Repeat any missed roster or boss target if needed, but prioritize keeping enough priests alive to beat Szaregon.

Leave for later: After victory, check Steam for any remaining troop, ending or difficulty unlock. Add a focused campaign only for what remains; do not erase previously earned checks to represent a fresh run.

Before moving on

  • Check both start options before confirming the campaign; this run uses autosaves rather than manual ending branches.
  • Recruit priests, bring healing and use expendable troops to protect them. A dead priest will not return after the mission.
  • Avoid unnecessary side fights and difficult expansion deployments once your required team and equipment are ready.
  • Take out the subordinate lords where practical, then win the campaign. Either valid ending is sufficient for these two setting achievements.

100% achievement checklist

First deployments and awakening

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. This is only the beginning. Finish the opening mission and return to the bridge.
    1. Leave Skip Tutorial off for this first campaign so the introductory mission is included.
    2. Follow each objective as it changes, including withdrawal instructions; you do not need to defeat every enemy encountered during the introduction.
(59% of Steam players have it.)
  2. No aid from the Omnissiah. Complete one deployment without activating a mission canticle.
    1. You may bring canticles in the loadout; simply leave their buttons unused until the deployment is finished.
    2. Pick an early manageable mission, use ordinary attacks and healing, and avoid clicking a canticle when the fight becomes tense.
(57.5% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Half a cog. Let the global awakening percentage on the bridge reach at least 50% during a campaign.
    1. If efficient missions keep it below that point, delay the final mission and continue normal deployments until the bridge counter crosses 50%.
    2. Keep the awakening mechanic enabled and check the campaign percentage after returning from each deployment.
Watch out: Check this before finishing an early-ending campaign. Do not confuse a high in-mission awakening level with 50% global awakening. (24.4% of Steam players have it.)

Troop unlocks

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Galvanic Rifle. Find a mission whose reward preview names Skitarii Ranger, complete its objectives and collect the mission reward.
    1. Khepra offers many troop rewards, so check her available deployments first and then the other advisers.
    2. After the reward is awarded, confirm that Skitarii Ranger appears in your troop roster.
(38% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Power Ranger. Unlock Skitarii Ranger Alpha through a mission reward.
    1. Read the entire unit name on the preview: a regular Skitarii Ranger is insufficient.
    2. Continue taking troop unlocks and upgrades, especially in Khepra’s chain, and inspect newly available reward cards after each deployment.
    3. Finish the mission advertising the Alpha unlock.
(37.7% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Radium Ready. Collect a mission reward that unlocks Skitarii Vanguard.
    1. On the bridge, inspect the troop name rather than identifying the unit solely by its weapon icon.
    2. Complete the mission showing the Vanguard reward, then look for the new unit in the troop-selection roster before choosing your next deployment.
(37.7% of Steam players have it.)
  4. Taser Goad. Earn the Skitarii Vanguard Alpha unlock from a mission reward.
    1. Work through troop-reward missions and keep checking new previews until the Alpha is explicitly offered.
    2. Win that deployment and collect its reward; upgrading a priest or unlocking the basic Vanguard does not replace the Alpha troop unlock.
(37.6% of Steam players have it.)
  5. Legio Cybernetica. Unlock the Kastelan Robot by completing a mission that offers it as a troop reward.
    1. Keep accepting earlier troop unlocks and troop upgrades while progressing Khepra and the other advisers; inspect the preview for the robot rather than assuming a particular mission always grants it.
    2. Confirm its entry in the deployment roster.
(17.4% of Steam players have it.)
  6. Battle Servitor. Complete a deployment whose reward card offers Kataphron Breacher.
    1. Look across the available advisers and continue the troop-reward chains if it has not appeared yet.
    2. Claiming the Breacher unlock is the goal; having ordinary Servitors or the Kastelan Robot does not meet this requirement.
(11.1% of Steam players have it.)

Necron bosses and the early finale

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Watch them crumble. Take Captrix’s The Void Admiral mission when it becomes available and defeat Agrolekh.
    1. Bring physical and energy attacks, scan him to check his defenses, and use the damage type with the lower armor value.
    2. His protection changes between physical and energy, so recheck it during the encounter instead of repeating ineffective attacks.
(26.7% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Celestial Cartography Catastrophe. Select Captrix’s boss deployment for Lord Astronomer Ekropis and defeat Ekropis.
    1. Check the enemy preview before launching, then scan the boss and use attacks that overcome his displayed armor.
    2. Keep cognition available for repositioning and healing so the priests can finish the boss instead of becoming stranded beside other enemies.
(25.8% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Fleshy Disposal. Launch Captrix’s The Corrupted King mission and eliminate Ubjao.
    1. In his separate arena, move your priests toward the top of the spiral staircase where the boss waits.
    2. Reserve cognition for movement and concentrate damage on Ubjao: killing his Flayed One followers increases his health, so clearing every follower first can make the fight longer.
(20.6% of Steam players have it.)
  4. Vivisected Vizier. Defeat Mhelob in the Captrix deployment for The Royal Vizier.
    1. The approach is a long corridor with barriers, so plan movement toward the boss instead of exhausting your cognition on small attacks before reaching him.
    2. Scan Mhelob, use your strongest effective damage type, and keep a healing option available for the priests moving up the corridor.
(16% of Steam players have it.)
  5. Architect Abortion. Complete Captrix’s The Grand Architect boss mission and defeat Neftusk.
    1. Check the deployment preview for Neftusk, equip your priests for the enemies it lists and inspect the boss’s defenses after entering combat.
    2. Spend cognition where it brings a priest into attack range or prevents a death, then finish the boss objective.
(15.5% of Steam players have it.)
  6. Ding Dong Szaregon's Gone. Win the final Captrix mission, Twilight of the Gods, by defeating Szaregon.
    1. Before launching, finish the chosen Scaevola or Videx route and check the remaining achievement targets.
    2. Ideally eliminate Agrolekh, Ekropis, Ubjao, Mhelob and Neftusk in their own missions first, since surviving lords can join the final battle.
(15.2% of Steam players have it.)
  7. Impatient destruction. Defeat Szaregon while the global awakening counter is still below 100%.
    1. Once Twilight of the Gods is available, finish your required side goals and launch the finale before the bridge counter reaches its limit.
    2. Keep a manual save before the final deployment on a non-Ironman campaign so you can return to unfinished goals.
Watch out: At 100% you may still be able to finish the campaign, but this early-finale achievement is no longer the target of that run. (13.6% of Steam players have it.)

Priest recruitment and disciplines

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Competent Cohort. Build a roster of at least four Tech-Priests.
    1. On the bridge, choose Khepra’s available missions and prioritize previews showing a new Tech-Priest as a reward.
    2. Complete those deployments and inspect the cohort roster afterward.
    3. Troops such as Servitors and Skitarii do not count as priests.
(26.4% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Cohortus Maximus. Recruit six Tech-Priests into the cohort.
    1. Keep progressing Khepra’s mission chain and accepting priest recruitment rewards until the roster has six priests.
    2. Check this before the finale; unlocking extra troop seats or acquiring a new Skitarii unit does not increase the Tech-Priest total.
(7.7% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Knowledge is power. Choose one Tech-Priest in the cohort upgrade screen and purchase every node of one Discipline tree with Blackstone.
    1. Concentrate that priest’s purchases in the selected tree rather than splitting all upgrades among several disciplines.
    2. Once the final node has been acquired, check for the achievement.
(30.9% of Steam players have it.)
  4. One with the Machine. Fully purchase two Discipline trees on the same Tech-Priest.
    1. After finishing the first tree, keep investing that priest’s Blackstone into a second one until every node in both is unlocked.
    2. Do not assign one full tree to each of two priests: that does not satisfy the single-priest requirement.
(13.6% of Steam players have it.)

Hidden missions and competing endings

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. False God. From the bridge mission-selection screen, hold the Noospheric View key (Space by default on PC).
    1. Around 20% global awakening, look for Tiresus’s hidden portrait near the adviser column.
    2. Select him and complete his seven-mission chain, finishing The Seventh Seal and defeating its hidden boss before the global gauge reaches 100% or you launch Szaregon’s finale.
Watch out: Revealing the portrait alone is insufficient. The hidden boss must be defeated. Tiresus’s free mission chain is separate from the paid Heretek story. (3.9% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Mother of Xenarites. Finish Scaevola’s mission chain through The Verge of Omniscience, then defeat Szaregon in Twilight of the Gods.
    1. Complete her earlier missions as they become available rather than skipping straight to a late mission.
    2. Keep Videx’s Into the Breach unfinished on this campaign so the chosen Scaevola route is unambiguous.
Watch out: Finish the selected adviser’s route before the 100% awakening lockout and before killing Szaregon. The neutral victory does not replace this ending. (4.4% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Sterile Perfection. Complete Videx’s mission chain through Into the Breach and then win the final battle against Szaregon.
    1. Work through Videx’s earlier deployments and leave Scaevola’s The Verge of Omniscience unfinished on this run.
    2. The achievement is tied to the Videx ending, not simply to doing one early mission for him.
Watch out: Check the adviser route before launching Twilight of the Gods. If you win with the wrong ending, return to a pre-commitment save or pursue Videx in another campaign. (1.8% of Steam players have it.)

Difficulty completion

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Hard. Finish the campaign on Hard or Very Hard with achievements enabled.
    1. Select the preset in the campaign difficulty settings, defeat Szaregon and allow the ending to complete.
    2. A Very Hard victory can also satisfy this lower difficulty achievement, so you do not need a separate Hard campaign if Impossible unlocks.
(2.9% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Impossible. Win Twilight of the Gods on Very Hard with achievements enabled.
    1. Build a cohort that can generate cognition, heal and deal damage through armor; eliminate the five subordinate lords in their individual Captrix missions before the finale.
    2. This makes the final encounter less crowded and leaves your team free to focus on Szaregon.
(1.5% of Steam players have it.)

Campaign settings and restrictions

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Melee Machine. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Available Weapons to Melee Only before starting.
    1. Finish the campaign under that setting.
    2. Upgrade your priests’ axes and keep a way to generate cognition and repair damage; movement becomes important because your priests must reach enemies instead of firing from a distance.
(1% of Steam players have it.)
  2. AoE-phobia. Before starting a new campaign, open Customise Difficulty and switch Enable AoE Weapons off.
    1. Complete the campaign and defeat Szaregon without changing that intended restriction.
    2. This is a campaign-setup achievement, not a challenge to avoid pressing an area-attack button for one mission.
(1% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Zero to Hero. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and move Starting Blackstone to 0, then complete the campaign with achievement eligibility intact.
    1. This condition refers to the initial setting: you are free to earn and spend Blackstone from missions afterward.
    2. Use those earnings for the upgrades needed to survive the rest of the run.
(1.1% of Steam players have it.)
  4. No Omnissian Guidance. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Maximum Canticles Per Mission to 0.
    1. Start the campaign with that selection and defeat Szaregon.
    2. Use normal equipment and discipline skills for support rather than relying on the selectable mission canticles.
(1% of Steam players have it.)
  5. Not the Men-of-Iron. Choose New Game and enable Ironman in Additional Settings before the campaign begins.
    1. Play through to a final victory against Szaregon.
    2. Plan each deployment before entering it, because Ironman removes ordinary manual saves and reloads; use the campaign’s Continue option when returning to the run.
(2.2% of Steam players have it.)
  6. Perma-live. Enable Permadeath in Additional Settings while starting a new campaign, then finish it by defeating Szaregon.
    1. A Tech-Priest killed in action stays dead under this rule.
    2. Take healing into deployments, avoid unnecessary exposure and use expendable troops to occupy dangerous approaches rather than risking a priest for a small gain.
(2% of Steam players have it.)

Heretek expansion

Point of no return: Finish these goals before launching the final mission or reaching 100% global awakening.

  1. Purge the Heretek. Own Heretek and enable its content in Additional Settings when starting the campaign, then complete that campaign by defeating Szaregon.
    1. Check that Heretek remains enabled before committing to the run.
    2. The achievement’s condition is a campaign victory with expansion content active, rather than merely entering an expansion deployment.
(5.7% of Steam players have it.)
  2. Sensory overload. With Heretek owned and enabled for the campaign, find a mission reward offering Sicarian Infiltrator.
    1. Complete that deployment, collect the troop unlock and check that the Infiltrator is now in the deployment roster.
    2. Inspect all available advisers’ reward previews rather than assuming only the expansion’s missions can offer it.
(13.5% of Steam players have it.)
  3. Transonic Blur. Enable Heretek at campaign creation and collect a mission reward that unlocks Sicarian Ruststalker.
    1. Read the unit name in the reward preview, complete the mission offering it and confirm the new troop in your roster.
    2. Continue checking troop-reward missions if only the Sicarian Infiltrator has appeared so far.
(13.5% of Steam players have it.)

Achievements

34 achievements. 17 can be missed for good: they are marked Missable. Labels show which ones need Very Hard difficulty.

First deployments and awakening (3)

This is only the beginning

Finish the opening mission and return to the bridge. (59% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Finish the opening mission and return to the bridge.
  2. Leave Skip Tutorial off for this first campaign so the introductory mission is included.
  3. Follow each objective as it changes, including withdrawal instructions; you do not need to defeat every enemy encountered during the introduction.
  4. Keep a priest alive and use the objective marker rather than turning the tutorial into an unnecessary boss hunt.
  5. Confirm the achievement after the mission result screen.

No aid from the Omnissiah

Complete one deployment without activating a mission canticle. (57.5% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Complete one deployment without activating a mission canticle.
  2. You may bring canticles in the loadout; simply leave their buttons unused until the deployment is finished.
  3. Pick an early manageable mission, use ordinary attacks and healing, and avoid clicking a canticle when the fight becomes tense.
  4. This is a one-mission condition.
  5. It does not require starting a new campaign with canticles disabled.
  6. The zero-canticle campaign later in the planner also gives you another chance at it.

Half a cog

(Missable) Let the global awakening percentage on the bridge reach at least 50% during a campaign. Tip: Check this before finishing an early-ending campaign. Do not confuse a high in-mission awakening level with 50% global awakening. (24.4% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Let the global awakening percentage on the bridge reach at least 50% during a campaign.
  2. If efficient missions keep it below that point, delay the final mission and continue normal deployments until the bridge counter crosses 50%.
  3. Keep the awakening mechanic enabled and check the campaign percentage after returning from each deployment.
  4. A low-awakening campaign can end without this achievement.
  5. Avoid deliberately pushing toward 100% while recruitment or hidden missions remain unfinished: 100% closes the remaining side-mission window.

Necron bosses and the early finale (7)

Watch them crumble

Take Captrix’s The Void Admiral mission when it becomes available and defeat Agrolekh. (26.7% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Take Captrix’s The Void Admiral mission when it becomes available and defeat Agrolekh.
  2. Bring physical and energy attacks, scan him to check his defenses, and use the damage type with the lower armor value.
  3. His protection changes between physical and energy, so recheck it during the encounter instead of repeating ineffective attacks.
  4. No exact priest rank is required by the achievement.
  5. If the fight overwhelms your team, return to a pre-deployment save and earn more upgrades before trying again.
  6. Defeating him separately removes him from Szaregon’s final encounter.

Celestial Cartography Catastrophe

Select Captrix’s boss deployment for Lord Astronomer Ekropis and defeat Ekropis. (25.8% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Select Captrix’s boss deployment for Lord Astronomer Ekropis and defeat Ekropis.
  2. Check the enemy preview before launching, then scan the boss and use attacks that overcome his displayed armor.
  3. Keep cognition available for repositioning and healing so the priests can finish the boss instead of becoming stranded beside other enemies.
  4. The achievement requires Ekropis’s defeat, not completing every mission in his sector.
  5. His boss deployment appears through campaign progress; do other available missions and recheck Captrix if it is not offered yet.

Fleshy Disposal

Launch Captrix’s The Corrupted King mission and eliminate Ubjao. (20.6% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Launch Captrix’s The Corrupted King mission and eliminate Ubjao.
  2. In his separate arena, move your priests toward the top of the spiral staircase where the boss waits.
  3. Reserve cognition for movement and concentrate damage on Ubjao: killing his Flayed One followers increases his health, so clearing every follower first can make the fight longer.
  4. Disposable Servitors can distract followers near the starting area while the priests advance.
  5. This tactic is a suggestion, not an extra achievement condition.
  6. Check the actual health values in your difficulty preset rather than relying on a fixed number.

Vivisected Vizier

Defeat Mhelob in the Captrix deployment for The Royal Vizier. (16% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Defeat Mhelob in the Captrix deployment for The Royal Vizier.
  2. The approach is a long corridor with barriers, so plan movement toward the boss instead of exhausting your cognition on small attacks before reaching him.
  3. Scan Mhelob, use your strongest effective damage type, and keep a healing option available for the priests moving up the corridor.
  4. Taking this mission before Szaregon avoids leaving Mhelob as another live lord in the final encounter.
  5. Do not launch the finale just because it has appeared while this boss remains outstanding.

Architect Abortion

Complete Captrix’s The Grand Architect boss mission and defeat Neftusk. (15.5% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Complete Captrix’s The Grand Architect boss mission and defeat Neftusk.
  2. Check the deployment preview for Neftusk, equip your priests for the enemies it lists and inspect the boss’s defenses after entering combat.
  3. Spend cognition where it brings a priest into attack range or prevents a death, then finish the boss objective.
  4. The Steam achievement is named Architect Abortion; some other platforms use a different title.
  5. A prior deployment in Neftusk’s sector is not itself the achievement: the lord must be defeated.

Ding Dong Szaregon's Gone

Win the final Captrix mission, Twilight of the Gods, by defeating Szaregon. (15.2% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Win the final Captrix mission, Twilight of the Gods, by defeating Szaregon.
  2. Before launching, finish the chosen Scaevola or Videx route and check the remaining achievement targets.
  3. Ideally eliminate Agrolekh, Ekropis, Ubjao, Mhelob and Neftusk in their own missions first, since surviving lords can join the final battle.
  4. Use healing and damage buffs you have unlocked, maintain enough cognition to bring multiple priests into range, and concentrate their attacks on the remaining threats.
  5. The campaign ends after victory; side-mission cleanup should happen before deployment.

Impatient destruction

(Missable) Defeat Szaregon while the global awakening counter is still below 100%. Tip: At 100% you may still be able to finish the campaign, but this early-finale achievement is no longer the target of that run. (13.6% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Defeat Szaregon while the global awakening counter is still below 100%.
  2. Once Twilight of the Gods is available, finish your required side goals and launch the finale before the bridge counter reaches its limit.
  3. Keep a manual save before the final deployment on a non-Ironman campaign so you can return to unfinished goals.
  4. An early boss victory below 50% can miss Half a cog.
  5. For the first run, aim to have that milestone and your selected ending route finished, then win the finale somewhere between 50% and 99% global awakening.

Hidden missions and competing endings (3)

False God

(Missable) From the bridge mission-selection screen, hold the Noospheric View key (Space by default on PC). Tip: Revealing the portrait alone is insufficient. The hidden boss must be defeated. Tiresus’s free mission chain is separate from the paid Heretek story. (3.9% of Steam players have it.)

  1. From the bridge mission-selection screen, hold the Noospheric View key (Space by default on PC).
  2. Around 20% global awakening, look for Tiresus’s hidden portrait near the adviser column.
  3. Select him and complete his seven-mission chain, finishing The Seventh Seal and defeating its hidden boss before the global gauge reaches 100% or you launch Szaregon’s finale.
  4. Recheck the hidden portrait after subsequent deployments if no new Tiresus mission is available; later missions need further campaign progress.
  5. Continue other useful missions rather than assuming the chain is broken.
  6. In the final fight, spread your priests so area attacks do not hit the entire cohort.

Mother of Xenarites

(Missable) Finish Scaevola’s mission chain through The Verge of Omniscience, then defeat Szaregon in Twilight of the Gods. Tip: Finish the selected adviser’s route before the 100% awakening lockout and before killing Szaregon. The neutral victory does not replace this ending. (4.4% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Finish Scaevola’s mission chain through The Verge of Omniscience, then defeat Szaregon in Twilight of the Gods.
  2. Complete her earlier missions as they become available rather than skipping straight to a late mission.
  3. Keep Videx’s Into the Breach unfinished on this campaign so the chosen Scaevola route is unambiguous.
  4. On a campaign with manual saves, keep a save before either adviser’s final commitment if you want to try an alternate ending later.
  5. The planner uses separate campaigns, because Ironman cannot use that normal save-and-reload approach.

Sterile Perfection

(Missable) Complete Videx’s mission chain through Into the Breach and then win the final battle against Szaregon. Tip: Check the adviser route before launching Twilight of the Gods. If you win with the wrong ending, return to a pre-commitment save or pursue Videx in another campaign. (1.8% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Complete Videx’s mission chain through Into the Breach and then win the final battle against Szaregon.
  2. Work through Videx’s earlier deployments and leave Scaevola’s The Verge of Omniscience unfinished on this run.
  3. The achievement is tied to the Videx ending, not simply to doing one early mission for him.
  4. You may use other advisers for recruitment and equipment while following Videx.
  5. Avoid completing both competing final missions on the same save: the guide does not promise which ending wins in that situation.

Difficulty completion (2)

Hard

Finish the campaign on Hard or Very Hard with achievements enabled. (2.9% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Finish the campaign on Hard or Very Hard with achievements enabled.
  2. Select the preset in the campaign difficulty settings, defeat Szaregon and allow the ending to complete.
  3. A Very Hard victory can also satisfy this lower difficulty achievement, so you do not need a separate Hard campaign if Impossible unlocks.
  4. For the conservative route, keep the chosen preset throughout the run.
  5. Custom difficulty options can disable achievements even while a green achievement marker appears beside another setting; read the overall eligibility warning before starting.

Impossible

(Very Hard) Win Twilight of the Gods on Very Hard with achievements enabled. (1.5% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Win Twilight of the Gods on Very Hard with achievements enabled.
  2. Build a cohort that can generate cognition, heal and deal damage through armor; eliminate the five subordinate lords in their individual Captrix missions before the finale.
  3. This makes the final encounter less crowded and leaves your team free to focus on Szaregon.
  4. The safe route is to stay on Very Hard.
  5. A shorter alternative is to keep a manual pre-finale save, change to Very Hard before launching the final mission and win again; that shortcut can vary with version and eligibility settings, so do not rely on it for an Ironman plan.

Campaign settings and restrictions (6)

Melee Machine

At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Available Weapons to Melee Only before starting. (1% of Steam players have it.)

  1. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Available Weapons to Melee Only before starting.
  2. Finish the campaign under that setting.
  3. Upgrade your priests’ axes and keep a way to generate cognition and repair damage; movement becomes important because your priests must reach enemies instead of firing from a distance.
  4. Merely choosing not to fire guns in an ordinary campaign does not satisfy the starting-setting requirement.
  5. The planner uses Casual for this run and combines it with the separate AoE-off and zero-canticle options.

AoE-phobia

Before starting a new campaign, open Customise Difficulty and switch Enable AoE Weapons off. (1% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Before starting a new campaign, open Customise Difficulty and switch Enable AoE Weapons off.
  2. Complete the campaign and defeat Szaregon without changing that intended restriction.
  3. This is a campaign-setup achievement, not a challenge to avoid pressing an area-attack button for one mission.
  4. Set the AoE option explicitly even when choosing Melee Only, so both required starting conditions are recorded.
  5. Use single-target attacks, healing and cognition generation to keep the restricted cohort effective.

Zero to Hero

At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and move Starting Blackstone to 0, then complete the campaign with achievement eligibility intact. (1.1% of Steam players have it.)

  1. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and move Starting Blackstone to 0, then complete the campaign with achievement eligibility intact.
  2. This condition refers to the initial setting: you are free to earn and spend Blackstone from missions afterward.
  3. Use those earnings for the upgrades needed to survive the rest of the run.
  4. Casual can add its own starting bonus even with the slider at 0.
  5. The relevant selection is the Starting Blackstone slider, not a promise that the first displayed wallet will remain empty.
  6. Check the overall eligibility warning before starting.

No Omnissian Guidance

At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Maximum Canticles Per Mission to 0. (1% of Steam players have it.)

  1. At New Game, open Customise Difficulty and set Maximum Canticles Per Mission to 0.
  2. Start the campaign with that selection and defeat Szaregon.
  3. Use normal equipment and discipline skills for support rather than relying on the selectable mission canticles.
  4. Leaving three selected canticles unused in an ordinary campaign is not enough: that earns the one-mission No aid from the Omnissiah instead.
  5. This achievement needs the zero-canticle setting at campaign creation.

Not the Men-of-Iron

Choose New Game and enable Ironman in Additional Settings before the campaign begins. (2.2% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Choose New Game and enable Ironman in Additional Settings before the campaign begins.
  2. Play through to a final victory against Szaregon.
  3. Plan each deployment before entering it, because Ironman removes ordinary manual saves and reloads; use the campaign’s Continue option when returning to the run.
  4. Keep this run separate from the first campaign’s save-based ending experiments.
  5. Do not start another campaign in the middle of the Ironman attempt without making sure you can preserve the run you intend to continue.

Perma-live

Enable Permadeath in Additional Settings while starting a new campaign, then finish it by defeating Szaregon. (2% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Enable Permadeath in Additional Settings while starting a new campaign, then finish it by defeating Szaregon.
  2. A Tech-Priest killed in action stays dead under this rule.
  3. Take healing into deployments, avoid unnecessary exposure and use expendable troops to occupy dangerous approaches rather than risking a priest for a small gain.
  4. The published condition is completing a Permadeath campaign; it does not state that every priest must survive.
  5. Losses still weaken the team and can derail the run.
  6. The planner uses Casual with ordinary weapons instead of combining every restriction with Ironman.

Heretek expansion (3)

Purge the Heretek

Own Heretek and enable its content in Additional Settings when starting the campaign, then complete that campaign by defeating Szaregon. (5.7% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Own Heretek and enable its content in Additional Settings when starting the campaign, then complete that campaign by defeating Szaregon.
  2. Check that Heretek remains enabled before committing to the run.
  3. The achievement’s condition is a campaign victory with expansion content active, rather than merely entering an expansion deployment.
  4. You do not need to defeat the Heretek story’s final boss solely for this achievement.
  5. You may play the five expansion missions for their story and rewards, but finish the ordinary campaign as well.
  6. A Scaevola or Videx ending can share this victory.

Sensory overload

(Missable) With Heretek owned and enabled for the campaign, find a mission reward offering Sicarian Infiltrator. (13.5% of Steam players have it.)

  1. With Heretek owned and enabled for the campaign, find a mission reward offering Sicarian Infiltrator.
  2. Complete that deployment, collect the troop unlock and check that the Infiltrator is now in the deployment roster.
  3. Inspect all available advisers’ reward previews rather than assuming only the expansion’s missions can offer it.
  4. Unlocking a Sicarian Ruststalker is the other Heretek troop achievement, not this one.
  5. If the Infiltrator is still missing, keep the campaign open for troop rewards before launching the final mission.

Transonic Blur

(Missable) Enable Heretek at campaign creation and collect a mission reward that unlocks Sicarian Ruststalker. (13.5% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Enable Heretek at campaign creation and collect a mission reward that unlocks Sicarian Ruststalker.
  2. Read the unit name in the reward preview, complete the mission offering it and confirm the new troop in your roster.
  3. Continue checking troop-reward missions if only the Sicarian Infiltrator has appeared so far.
  4. The troop is commonly called Ruststalker; the hidden achievement requirement uses the spelling Rustalker.
  5. This is a troop unlock, not a requirement to complete a mission without being hit or to use a particular attack.

Troop unlocks (6)

Galvanic Rifle

(Missable) Find a mission whose reward preview names Skitarii Ranger, complete its objectives and collect the mission reward. (38% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Find a mission whose reward preview names Skitarii Ranger, complete its objectives and collect the mission reward.
  2. Khepra offers many troop rewards, so check her available deployments first and then the other advisers.
  3. After the reward is awarded, confirm that Skitarii Ranger appears in your troop roster.
  4. Keep looking before the final mission if the Ranger is still missing.
  5. A reward for Skitarii Vanguard is a different unlock and will not satisfy this achievement.

Power Ranger

(Missable) Unlock Skitarii Ranger Alpha through a mission reward. (37.7% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Unlock Skitarii Ranger Alpha through a mission reward.
  2. Read the entire unit name on the preview: a regular Skitarii Ranger is insufficient.
  3. Continue taking troop unlocks and upgrades, especially in Khepra’s chain, and inspect newly available reward cards after each deployment.
  4. Finish the mission advertising the Alpha unlock.
  5. Do not assume the Alpha arrives on a fixed numbered mission.
  6. Check the roster and this achievement before committing to the final encounter; another campaign may offer a different sequence of rewards.

Radium Ready

(Missable) Collect a mission reward that unlocks Skitarii Vanguard. (37.7% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Collect a mission reward that unlocks Skitarii Vanguard.
  2. On the bridge, inspect the troop name rather than identifying the unit solely by its weapon icon.
  3. Complete the mission showing the Vanguard reward, then look for the new unit in the troop-selection roster before choosing your next deployment.
  4. Khepra is a good adviser to check while recruiting more priests, but the reward preview on your own save is the useful confirmation.

Taser Goad

(Missable) Earn the Skitarii Vanguard Alpha unlock from a mission reward. (37.6% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Earn the Skitarii Vanguard Alpha unlock from a mission reward.
  2. Work through troop-reward missions and keep checking new previews until the Alpha is explicitly offered.
  3. Win that deployment and collect its reward; upgrading a priest or unlocking the basic Vanguard does not replace the Alpha troop unlock.
  4. Treat this as a separate roster entry from Radium Ready.
  5. If the campaign is nearly over and it is missing, keep a pre-finale save for outstanding troop rewards.

Legio Cybernetica

(Missable) Unlock the Kastelan Robot by completing a mission that offers it as a troop reward. (17.4% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Unlock the Kastelan Robot by completing a mission that offers it as a troop reward.
  2. Keep accepting earlier troop unlocks and troop upgrades while progressing Khepra and the other advisers; inspect the preview for the robot rather than assuming a particular mission always grants it.
  3. Confirm its entry in the deployment roster.
  4. Kastelan Robot is the target here.
  5. Kataphron Breacher belongs to Battle Servitor.
  6. Those two late troop unlocks can appear in different orders across campaigns.

Battle Servitor

(Missable) Complete a deployment whose reward card offers Kataphron Breacher. (11.1% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Complete a deployment whose reward card offers Kataphron Breacher.
  2. Look across the available advisers and continue the troop-reward chains if it has not appeared yet.
  3. Claiming the Breacher unlock is the goal; having ordinary Servitors or the Kastelan Robot does not meet this requirement.
  4. There is no dependable universal mission number for this reward.
  5. If it remains absent, check it again in the next planned campaign instead of spending the final awakening window on a guessed mission.

Priest recruitment and disciplines (4)

Competent Cohort

(Missable) Build a roster of at least four Tech-Priests. (26.4% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Build a roster of at least four Tech-Priests.
  2. On the bridge, choose Khepra’s available missions and prioritize previews showing a new Tech-Priest as a reward.
  3. Complete those deployments and inspect the cohort roster afterward.
  4. Troops such as Servitors and Skitarii do not count as priests.
  5. Recruitment rewards may arrive at different points in the available mission sequence.
  6. Follow the preview instead of waiting for a single fixed mission number, and leave enough awakening time to continue Khepra’s chain.

Cohortus Maximus

(Missable) Recruit six Tech-Priests into the cohort. (7.7% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Recruit six Tech-Priests into the cohort.
  2. Keep progressing Khepra’s mission chain and accepting priest recruitment rewards until the roster has six priests.
  3. Check this before the finale; unlocking extra troop seats or acquiring a new Skitarii unit does not increase the Tech-Priest total.
  4. Use the roster as the count, not the number of units currently deployed in combat.
  5. On a Permadeath run, permanent losses can make building a full surviving cohort harder, so the planner puts this on the first ordinary campaign.

Knowledge is power

(Missable) Choose one Tech-Priest in the cohort upgrade screen and purchase every node of one Discipline tree with Blackstone. (30.9% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Choose one Tech-Priest in the cohort upgrade screen and purchase every node of one Discipline tree with Blackstone.
  2. Concentrate that priest’s purchases in the selected tree rather than splitting all upgrades among several disciplines.
  3. Once the final node has been acquired, check for the achievement.
  4. The tree must be complete on a single priest; several priests owning different pieces do not combine into a complete tree.
  5. Continue missions for Blackstone if the next purchase is too expensive.

One with the Machine

(Missable) Fully purchase two Discipline trees on the same Tech-Priest. (13.6% of Steam players have it.)

  1. Fully purchase two Discipline trees on the same Tech-Priest.
  2. After finishing the first tree, keep investing that priest’s Blackstone into a second one until every node in both is unlocked.
  3. Do not assign one full tree to each of two priests: that does not satisfy the single-priest requirement.
  4. Keep the default Discipline Tree Unlock Method for this route.
  5. A setting restricting priests to one discipline defeats the planned two-tree build.
  6. Spend your remaining Blackstone before launching the final mission; there is no need to hoard it after all targets are ready.
