Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr
Before you startMedium missable risk
- Difficulty
- Starting on hardest is not required. There is no global difficulty setting, you pick one per mission, and only Efficient Operative asks for Impossible, so play everything else at a comfortable setting and do that one assignment late with a strong build.
Difficulty details
Almost nothing is a skill check: most achievements are counters you fill by playing missions, and story missions cannot be failed by dying. The only difficulty-gated one is a Priority Assignment on Impossible, which wants a strong build, and Invincible and Perfect Record ask for clean runs. The challenge is patience and managing five classes, not execution.
- Missables
- Medium missable risk; the count is not settled.
Missable details
Questionable Intents and A Dedicated Warrior are opposite choices at the end of one story mission, so one of them is lost for that character; weekly Glory can be redone next week and the rest can be earned at any time.
- Co-op
- Co-op or other online play is required for 3 achievements.
Online details
Veteran of Battles needs 50 multiplayer missions, Savior needs a partner to revive, and Brother In Arms needs you to join a cabal. None asks you to beat other players.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr achievements (Steam list)
Main story
- First steps on the Martyr (Reliable). Leave the hangar deck of the Martyr at the very start of the story. It comes while you are still learning the controls in the first missions, so there is nothing to prepare.
- The Plot Thickens (Reliable). Finish Chapter One and leave the Martyr. After about five story missions on the ship you reach your own vessel together with Caius Thorn, and the achievement unlocks then.
- All Matters Biological (Reliable). Find Metrodora Thelema. Caius Thorn is badly hurt, so you are sent to look for her in three locations. She is under attack when you find her: kill the attackers, and she joins you on the way back to the ship, which unlocks it.
- Pawns of the Beast (Unconfirmed). Begin the investigation against the Feral Beasts mercenary group. The Steam text names this story event but does not say where it starts, so keep following the campaign and check that it unlocks.
- Servant of the Omnissiah (Reliable). Find the Tech-Priest Omicron Arkh. After Metrodora Thelema joins you, a couple of missions lead you to him; rescue him, bring him back to the ship and talk to him.
- The Hand One is Dealt (Unconfirmed). Use Uther's Tarot to find the Martyr again. First you must fetch the Tarot: its hiding place is guarded by your first boss, and if you die in that fight you return with grenades refilled while the boss keeps the health it had. Pick up the Tarot after the kill, then continue the story.
- Questionable Intents (Check in game). At the end of the Klosterheim mission, choose the Puritan option when deciding his fate and have him executed. It takes a single hit. The mission completes Chapter 3 afterwards. This is the opposite choice to A Dedicated Warrior. Watch out: Once the mission is completed, the other outcome is locked for this character.
- A Dedicated Warrior (Check in game). At the end of the Klosterheim mission, choose the Radical option and release him. The mission completes Chapter 3 afterwards. This is the opposite choice to Questionable Intents. Watch out: Once the mission is completed, the other outcome is locked for this character.
- A Trader's Fate (Unconfirmed). Make your decision about the fate of the van Wynter House. The Steam text asks for a decision, not for a particular outcome, so either outcome should count; this is not confirmed.
- The Mailed Fist (Unconfirmed). Command a Shadowsword tank through enemy lines. It is a story event; the Steam text does not say which mission.
- Knight of the Cog (Unconfirmed). Command an Imperial Knight through enemy lines. This is a story event with the same name as a Tech-Adept achievement later in the list (Tech-Adept group); this one is the story mission.
- The Key (Reliable). Find the Rosette of Uther Tiberius. Over several missions you reach the place where it is guarded. The location is under attack: fight through to the end and pick it up, and it unlocks when the mission completes.
- Into the Great Unknown (Reliable). Finish the main campaign. Chapter 3 and the ending depend on your morality choices, but either route completes the campaign.
- Chaos Undivided (Unconfirmed). Kill Lord Antaroz, the Black Legion warlord. The Steam text does not describe the mission, so check the story mission list for his name.
Drukhari and Khorne storylines
- The Emperor’s Justice (Unconfirmed). Make a decision about the fate of a Psyker who serves the Drukhari. It is a morality choice during the Drukhari storyline, and the achievement is for deciding, not for a specific outcome.
- Painkiller (Unconfirmed). Sabotage the Drukhari master plan and destroy all the Pain Catalysts. Keep playing the Drukhari storyline and it unlocks by itself when the plan is ruined. Do not confuse it with Sweet Pain, which is a separate counter in the City of Suffering DLC.
- Deliverance (Unconfirmed). Wipe out the Coterie of Dissonance in the Triglav Subsector. Later in the Drukhari storyline a traitor Dark Eldar offers to join you against the other Dark Eldar in the system; you face another morality decision there, and it is the final achievement of this storyline.
- A Forgotten Place (Reliable). Unlock the Agartha Subsector. It belongs to the Khorne storyline and unlocks through the story.
- Careful, Thorn! (Unconfirmed). Pass judgement on Caius Thorn for his disobedience. This is a decision; the text does not name a required outcome.
- Vengeance for the Stormwatchers (Unconfirmed). Kill Kairn Golgarth, the Voidripper warlord, during the Khorne storyline.
- The Bigger They Are... (Unconfirmed). Destroy Abraxas, the infamous Chaos Knight, during the Khorne storyline.
Kill counts by enemy type
- Verminslayer (Reliable). Kill 2,500 Horde-type enemies. Horde enemies are weak creatures, mostly lesser Chaos and Nurgle daemons, that arrive in groups of roughly 10 to 30. Some trap drones also count as Horde.
- Reaper (Reliable). Kill 250 Champion-type enemies. Nurgle egg-sacks count as Champions and appear later in the campaign.
- Where it Hurts (Reliable). Kill 50 Commander-type enemies. Commanders buff nearby enemies and give them orders, so it pays to take them down first.
- Cull the Strong (Reliable). Kill 100 elite enemies. Elites have a lot of defence and strong attacks, but their attacks are readable, so wait for an opening and fight them one at a time.
- Hunter of Hunters (Reliable). Kill 5 Boss creatures. Bosses appear in story missions rather than star-map missions, and you must land the kill yourself: grenade and turret kills do not count. Players report that if you quit the game before a story mission finishes you can fight the boss again, and the kill still counts.
- Scourge of the Drukari (Reliable). Kill 1,000 Dark Eldar enemies. The mission screen shows which enemy races appear, so choose Drukhari missions and Drukhari parts of the story.
- The Blood Must Flow (Reliable). Kill 1,000 Khorne enemies. Choose missions where Khorne forces are the enemy, and play the Khorne storyline.
Kill methods and class skills
- Ranged Avenger (Reliable). Kill 5,000 enemies with ranged skills. Any ranged weapon skill counts, so a ranged build earns it in normal play over many missions.
- Relentless Slaughter (Reliable). Kill 5,000 enemies with melee skills. Any melee skill counts.
- Grenadier (Reliable). Kill 1,000 enemies with grenades. You carry at most five at a time, and they refill from supply crates or at the start of the next mission. Big packs of Horde enemies are the quickest kills.
- No Escape (Reliable). Kill 50 enemies while they are in cover. Enemies in cover show a small shield icon under their status; shoot, strike or grenade them while it shows.
- Judge and Jury (Reliable). Execute 50 enemies as an Assassin or a Crusader. The Psyker and other classes cannot do it. An execution happens when your own melee hit lands the killing blow and the prompt appears. Players report that without skill points in the execution tree you can only execute elite machine enemies, so make sure allies and turrets do not take the kill.
- Perils of the Warp (Reliable). Create 100 warp anomalies with a Psyker. You do not need to kill anything with them; just keep using the Psyker powers that spawn anomalies. Which powers create them is random and often hurts your Psyker, so give yourself time to heal.
Combat bonuses
- Blood Sacrifice (Reliable). Trigger the Massacre bonus once. Kill 30 enemies in a row with no more than five seconds between kills; Horde enemies make it easy. The bonus raises your damage while it lasts.
- Sacred Fury (Reliable). Trigger the Killstreak bonus 30 times. Kill 10 enemies in a row with no more than five seconds between kills; a notice appears when it starts.
- Death Incarnated (Unconfirmed). Trigger the Angel of Death bonus 30 times. It fires after three critical hits in a row, each within about three seconds of the last. Weapons with a higher critical chance make this much faster.
- Untouchable (Unconfirmed). Trigger the Unbreakable bonus 30 times. It is awarded for staying alive for a set time while being shot at, and it restores health and suppression resistance. If you have a co-op partner who keeps going down and being revived, that can feed this counter together with Savior.
Missions and assignments
- Invincible (Reliable). Complete 25 missions without dying. Dying in a story mission does not fail it, but it still counts as a death for this. The quickest way is to repeat easy star-map missions once your character is stronger than the content.
- Perfect Record (Reliable). Finish a whole Priority Assignment sequence without dying. You can combine this with Efficient Operative in one run if you do the Impossible assignment without dying.
- Uprooting Evil (Reliable). Complete 5 Priority Assignments on any difficulty. Talk to the Astropath on the right of the star map, pick a random assignment and run all its missions; repeat until the counter reaches 5.
- Efficient Operative (Check in game). Complete a Priority Assignment on Impossible difficulty or higher. When you accept a random assignment, raise its difficulty to Impossible (five levels above your level) before you confirm. An accepted assignment stays open for 12 hours, so players level up with other missions first and then run it. You have three lives per mission. Watch out: Reported as unreliable in the past. Do it with a strong build, not a throwaway one.
- All Kinds of Trouble (Reliable). Complete at least one mission of every type on the star map. Types reported include purge, Nurgle infestation, daemonic incursion, hunt, assassination, rescue, siege, panic room, silence the guns, bunker busting and data hunt. Open the star map and check the symbol on each mission.
- Stalwart Servant (Reliable). Complete 15 events during missions. A side event shows as a green circle on your map in star-map missions and some story missions (never in Warzone); kill the enemies there to finish it.
- Visionary (Reliable). Complete 10 Void Crusade missions. After a story tutorial unlocks it, start a Void Crusade from the left side of your ship. One crusade has more than 10 missions, so one is enough.
- Only War (Reliable). Reach Inquisitorial Rank 50 and then complete a Warzone mission. The Warzone has been reported in the Tenebra subsector, Lacaon system. You can enter earlier, but it only counts once you are rank 50 or higher.
Mission objects and gadgets
- Ordance Seeker (Reliable). Open 10 supply chests. They are the red crates labelled as medical supply. They show up in every mission type except Warzone.
- Demolisher (Reliable). Blow up 50 explosive containers. Red and blue containers both count. Hit them in melee or shoot them.
- Cheating Death (Check in game). Set off 50 traps. Small skull-marked traps sit beside doors and walls and trigger when you pass them without destroying them first. Players report that progress only comes from the trap actually going off, not from disarming it, and that the counter has been unreliable.
- Magos Biologis (Reliable). Use Booster-type Inoculator components 250 times. The Inoculator is your main healing tool; once you have the Magos Biologis on your ship you can add booster components to it, then use it in missions.
Gear, crafting and progression
- Chosen Warrior (Reliable). Equip your first Relic item. Relic items have four modifiers and drop at random; equip the first one you find.
- Technoarcheologist (Reliable). Craft 25 items. At the Tech-Priest on the command bridge, pick a blueprint, fill each slot with the right crafting material and press Craft. Salvage items you do not need to get materials.
- Forge Lord (Reliable). Fuse a socket into a Relic (or better) item. At the Tech-Priest on the command bridge open the Fusion tab and put in the Relic you want to improve first, then at least one other Relic. A counter under the first item shows how much it can still be improved; at 100% or more it cannot be improved further.
- Hero of the Imperium (Reliable). Acquire 750 Fate points. You do not have to hold them at once; spending them still counts. Fate comes from missions, finishing storylines, Weekly Glory rewards and raising your influence in star systems; tarot cards on non-story missions increase the Fate you earn.
- Mechasapient (Reliable). Research 10 upgrades in the Tech tree at Omicron Arkh. Each costs Calgari credits and Fate points.
- No Turning Back (Reliable). Reach Inquisitorial Rank 20 with one character. Your rank is your level; completing missions raises it, and story missions give the most.
- Lexico Arcanus (Reliable). Learn every skill in one skill tree. You gain skill points on each level-up. You can reset skill points once with a consumable from the vendor if you spread them thin.
- Bibliophiliac (Reliable). Unlock all skill trees. Level up and complete the Heroic Deeds that give a new skill-tree branch as their reward. The Puritan and Radical paths do not count as trees for this. The deed screen and the achievement progress may differ slightly.
- Tough Choices (Reliable). Reach the end of either the Puritan or the Radical axis on the Morality Chart. Either end counts, so keep making the same kind of choices through the story and side content.
Online play, cabals and weekly Glory
- Veteran of Battles (Reliable). Complete 50 multiplayer missions. Once the first story missions are done you can host or join online missions from your ship. You can invite friends rather than rely on matchmaking, and any star-map mission counts. Players report that a co-op mission may count for more than one.
- Savior (Reliable). Revive each other 50 times. You need a co-op partner: when either of you goes down, the other revives them, and the count is for both of you.
- Brother In Arms (Reliable). Join a cabal. Cabals are clans; open the Cabal menu on the bridge of your ship and create or join one.
- Glorious (Reliable). Reach the maximum points in a Weekly Glory challenge. Finish the story section that unlocks the Glory tutorial first. Any mission awards Glory, and tarot cards raise the reward. On console, about 2,500 points in the current week was reported as the target; check your Glory screen for the target in your game. The meter resets each week. Watch out: Weekly: if you miss the target, you wait for the next week.
Prophecy story
- Secret Found and Lost (Unconfirmed). Discover the mysterious Martyr early in the Tech-Adept story. You must start as a Tech-Adept to get it.
- The Primogenitor (Unconfirmed). Survive your first encounter with Fabius Bile. It comes a few missions into the Prophecy story.
- Gift of the Harlequin (Unconfirmed). Seize the ancient prophecy about the Alpha Pariah. A Harlequin asks you to run a few missions and then betrays you; defeat her, and finish the mission to unlock it.
- There is No Truth in Flesh (Unconfirmed). Pass judgement on the renegade Tech-Priest known as the Savant. A Puritan or Radical decision is offered, and either choice unlocks it.
- Prophecy Fullfilled (Unconfirmed). Close the Dark Nexus and see what becomes of the Alpha Pariah. It unlocks after the last mission of the Prophecy story, whichever morality route you chose.
Tech-Adept deeds
- Unmarred Corpus (Reliable). Complete 5 missions without taking any melee damage as a Tech-Adept. Keep your distance and use ranged weapons and ranged-armed constructs; story missions can give this on their own.
- Knight of the Cog (Reliable). As a Tech-Adept, kill 20 Elite enemies at your own level or higher. This is the deed with the same name as the story achievement; check which one is shown in your achievements screen. Play missions at your level or choose a higher level on the briefing.
- STC Specialist (Reliable). Summon 1,000 Constructs as a Tech-Adept. The easiest way is a build with many summon slots and a cheap summon that creates several Constructs at once, then repeated summoning at the start of a mission.
- Master Datasmith (Reliable). Kill 2,500 enemies with your Kastelan Robots as a Tech-Adept. The Robots unlock at level 30 and appear in missions automatically once you set them up under Construct Setup on your ship. Do not kill enemies yourself or summon other Constructs, and give the Robots ranged weapons to speed it up.
- Unyielding Legion (Reliable). Complete 25 missions without losing a Construct as a Tech-Adept. The sturdy Kastelan Robots rarely die at story difficulty. Players also say missions where you never summon anything count.
- Cognis Protocol (Reliable). Complete a mission as a Tech-Adept where all the damage you deal comes from your Construct turrets, against enemies at your level or higher. Set your Constructs to turrets and summon them again whenever you meet enemies; do not attack, use grenades, mines or explosive containers yourself.
City of Suffering
- Harvester of Pain and Glory (Reliable). Reach a score of 1,500 in City of Suffering. Score comes from the event's own objectives and kills; check the score shown in the mission.
- Sweet Pain (Reliable). Destroy 100 Pain Catalysts in City of Suffering. Pain Catalysts are the Drukhari devices you are asked to take down during the event.
Battle Sister deeds
- Tools of Retribution (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, kill 500 enemies with Combo Weapons.
- Display of Valour (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, trigger Killstreak effects 100 times.
- Exemplary Devotion (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, generate 10,000 Faith.
- Assisted Redemption (Reliable). Kill 1,000 enemies while in Embodied Saint form as a Battle Sister.
- Tapestry of Vengeance (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, defeat 500 foes while under the effect of one of your Banners.
- Symbols of the Creed (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, deploy 150 Banners.
- Hallowed Rejuvenation (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, gain 100,000 health from Banners.
- The Emperor's Bride (Reliable). As a Battle Sister, transform into the Embodied Saint form 100 times.
- Demonstration of Purity (Reliable). Kill 50 Chaos Engine Elites while under the effect of an Act of Faith. Acts of Faith belong to the Battle Sister, so use that class.
- Journey of Faith (Reliable). Reach the maximum level with a Battle Sister. Check your rank screen for the level cap in your version of the game.
Hierophant deeds
- Devoted Member (Reliable). As a Hierophant, generate 10,000 Devotion.
- Strength in Numbers (Reliable). Reach 1,000 Retinue kills as a Hierophant.
- Sacred Eradication (Reliable). Deal 100,000 damage with Hierophant spells.
- Veteran Leader (Reliable). Complete 25 missions as a Hierophant without losing a Retinue member.
- Blessed by the Ministorum (Reliable). Bless your allies 50 times as a Hierophant.
- Not The Time (Reliable). Resurrect Retinue Members 10 times as a Hierophant.
- Flames of the Order (Reliable). Ignite 1,000 enemies as a Hierophant.
- Retinue Commander (Reliable). Issue 100 orders to your Retinue as a Hierophant.
- Demonstration of Faith (Reliable). Kill 10 Chaos Engine Elites with Hierophant spells.
