Act 1 – Campaign missions

Skyfire

Point of no return: Admission of Desertion is lost once you drop down the ledge where the Cadians wait; Desired Purgation of Data is lost if you ride the elevator.

  1. Stormtalon Crash, Kadaku (Reliable). Early in the swamp stretch (objective 'Make Your Way Through the Swamp'). Keep to the left side of the route, away from the objective marker, and shoot the exploding plant pods on the left. They clear a hidden side path that dead-ends at the dataslate, lying on a green supply crate by some abandoned supplies. If a Ravener shows up you have walked past it. It lies near the wreck of the crashed Stormtalon gunship, beside several dropped weapons.
  2. Admission of Desertion (Reliable). Still in the swamp. Past the ruined bridge, once the orbital guns come into view far ahead, do NOT go back to the squad. Drop off the ledge beside the tall metal watchtower into the swamp below; the slate sits in front of a big tree's roots, with a dead deserter lying beside it. You cannot climb back up, so grab it before the next ledge where the Cadian soldiers wait.
  3. Anti-Tyranid Offensive, Kadaku (Reliable). Inside the Cadian base after the first holdout, during 'Navigate Through the Base'. At the hallway with a big ventilation fan, do not take the fan path; go up the nearby stairs (or straight on) to where a Combat Knife lies, next to a dead Cadian. The slate is on the ground there. If you open a door beyond the large fan you have gone too far.
  4. Desired Purgation of Data (Reliable). At the end of the mission, on the way to the targeting system. Before you ride the elevator up, walk around its right-hand side to the ground behind it, near a dead Tech-Priest (a Plasma Pistol lies beside it). Taking the elevator first loses it.

Severance

Point of no return: The facility elevator and the cliff drop after the bridge both lock you out of earlier slates.

  1. Conflict, Adeptus Astartes/Tyranid, Kadaku (Reliable). Early in 'Reach the Adeptus Mechanicus Facility'. Do not cross the metal bridge. Go up the slope on the left (past a white tent / abandoned vault) and look behind the wrecked military vehicle. Medicae Stimms lie nearby. Dropping off the ledge after the bridge loses it.
  2. Tyranid Attack, Designation: Rippers, Kadaku (Reliable). Right where the jungle ends at the Mechanicus facility, during 'Locate the Transmitter'. Before stepping onto the first elevator, walk straight on to the rear wall of the first room, where a barricade has a red light shining behind it. The slate is on the floor, in a small alcove off the elevator area on the right side, behind sandbags. Riding the elevator loses it.
  3. Lamentation for Sacred Machines (Check in game). Inside the facility after the room where you restore power (flamethrower section) and pass the 'Sector 614' door. In the next room, an unmarked terminal opens a sealed door; go through it and follow the passage to its end. Nothing marks this terminal, so it is easy to skip. Turn right after that door and follow the passage to the stretch under big ventilation fans, where the slate lies on the floor beside some bodies. If it isn't there, search the left side of the room.
  4. Summary, Tyranid Invasion, Kadaku (Check in game). First Jump Pack section (objective 'Reach the Crash Site'). Enter the first cave, then boost straight up to a high ledge; check the left side first. The slate sits on that ledge, which may be upper left before the cave section, or high above your head inside the cave before the pit leap. If it isn't there, check the right side.

Machinus Divinitus

Point of no return: Riding the large elevator to the reactor chamber loses Improper Command.

  1. Attempted Liturgy for Burnt Capacitor (Reliable). After the holdout that extends the bridge, cross the new bridge, enter the next building and turn left onto the roof (through the broken railing). The slate lies on the roof at the end, with a dead Tech-Priest beside it. If you don't see it, look near the huge archway with red banners just before the elevator-control room.
  2. Termination 101010-S (Check in game). At the start of 'Proceed to the Databanks', a wall panel opens a door marked 'Sector 5' into the tunnels. Turn left, right, right, left, right, to a dead end opposite the main path, by a pair of weapons: a Heavy Bolt Rifle plus a Bolt Carbine. Do not use the door terminal in the generator room. If it isn't there, stay right at the start and avoid dropping down on the left; at the split go right, up a small flight of stairs (left and down leads on with the mission), to a dead end with a dead Tech-Priest, past a sign reading sector D4. As another alternative, turn right where a Lictor shadow leads elsewhere, and look for the slate on a crate down that hallway.
  3. Improper Command (Check in game). After the Carnifex fight, cross the long metal bridge, use the wall panel and hold off the wave while the gate opens. Go through the gate and walk to the far end of the corridor; the slate is in the right-hand corner. If it isn't there, look left after the door, or go straight on past the turn into the next area to the dead end of the corridor beyond the depot ambush, with the slate on the right. Grab it before you step on the 'Assemble' elevator. Watch out: Riding the reactor elevator loses it.

Servant of the Machine

Point of no return: Dropping off the ledge to the Neurothrope fight loses Cannon Maintenance.

  1. Cannon Maintenance, 1.002.81 (Reliable). After the first elevator ride (objective 'Advance to the Neurothrope's Locus'), step off and walk around the left side of the elevator shaft (a sharp left after the elevator, behind it, against the wall) to find the slate on the ground. Falling through the hole to the right leads straight to the Neurothrope and loses it.
  2. Tithe Collection, Avarax (Check in game). Right after the Chairon cutscene (objective 'Advance to the Temple of Thassean' returns). A winged statue with a blue force-field stands where you spawn. Go down the rubble ramp ahead; before the stairs on the left, keep going straight to the far end and check behind a wall/pillar near the rubble. If it isn't there, check a corner on the left, the right of the door that comes before the weapon pod, or a crate on the left inside the temple. It may also be on a crate or in the debris at a corner just before the main route, near the loadout pod: take a right there, or look round the outside corner instead of going down the hall. Opening the door panel loses it.

Voidsong

Point of no return: After your Jump Packs malfunction and you drop off the ledge, the second slate is gone.

  1. Potential Heresy, Adeptus Astra Telepathica, 2287.8 (Reliable). At 'Restore Power to the Door'. Do not go up toward the sealed door; go left past the weapon pod into the spore-filled armory room and look on the desk. The slate is on the left side of the ground floor, in the back room, on a table in the corner; spore mines sit in the opposite corner. Alternatively, take the first path right, then keep left to the dead end; the slate is in a corner on a desk, left of the big door.
  2. Potential Heresy, Adeptus Astra Telepathica, 2288.2 (Reliable). Jump Pack objective 'Advance to the Relay Entrance'. After the second gate and the big fight, there is a ruined balcony / shattered floor / ledge on the right. Jump Pack up to it. The slate lies there, on a table. Once your Jump Packs malfunction later, you cannot come back.
  3. Potential Heresy, Adeptus Astra Telepathica, 2289.5 (Reliable). After the boss fight and the elevator ride to the Relay Sanctum (objective 'Transmit a Message to Lord Calgar'). In the room with guardsmen burning corpses with flamethrowers, check the corner on the right behind the stairs. If it isn't there, look behind sacks on the left, or left of the stairs after turning around. It may also be to the right of the large burning pile, or left of the entrance, behind a sandbag emplacement and next to a blood puddle.

Dawn's Descent

Point of no return: Place the targeting signal transmitter only after taking the first slate. Riding the elevator at the ruins loses 8.7.

  1. Effects of Noctilith Exposure (Reliable). 'Advance to the Cathedral'. Use the Jump Pack to hop up the floating platforms to an island that has an Ammo Cache and look in the left corner or behind the cache among gravestones, near a dead Cultist. It lies left of the building among the gravestones, beside a dead Chaos soldier. Jumping through the broken window loses it. Pick it up prior to setting down the targeting signal transmitter.
  2. Tomb Excavation, Analog Backup Log 8.6 (Reliable). After the cutscene you respawn in a graveyard (objective 'Advance to the Mechanicus Facility'). Take the path that heads down and left, away from the objective, and keep taking the left-most branches to a dead end at a shrine/altar between a crypt and a statue. A Las Fusil lies nearby. It glows green. It is near the giant statue (a Space Marine with sword and shield), down the left path at the edge of the floating rock, around a corner behind a small mausoleum, on an altar. If it isn't there, follow a road, left and then right, and down a slope, to the right of a statue.
  3. Tomb Excavation, Analog Backup Log 8.7 (Reliable). In the ruins ('Explore the Ruins'), after the sterilization chamber and where Imurah's illusion appears: go up the stairs, then take the dark side passage on the left, not the right-hand path with the wires and spotlights (the right path leads to the elevator you must not ride yet). The slate is to the left of the stone platform where the illusion appears, on a metal platform by a Heavy Bolt Rifle and a dead Tech-Priest; going on to the elevator room loses it. If you can't find it, go the whole way south from the main gate.
  4. Tomb Excavation, Analog Backup Log 9.9 (Reliable). 'Advance to Aurora'. After pushing the first yellow crate, crossing a metal bridge and fighting the next group, look to the right: blue glowing thorns lead to a corner. A workspace-turned-altar with terminals, candles, books and a corpse (a Martian priest's) sits in front of what looks like a giant bug-robot head. The slate is there, in the workshop on the right near the big blue crystals, beside a dead Tech-Priest.

Bellum Sempiternus

Point of no return: Raising the Banner objective after the tomb loses Burial.

  1. Effects of Warp Exposure (Reliable). Right after the start, past the warp-touched Cadians, drop down a pit into ruins. After landing go left, then right, to find it on the floor near a crouching, crazed Cadian at the end of the path. Going through the door loses it.
  2. Burial, Adeptus Astartes, Salamander Chapter (Reliable). 'Advance to the Second Force'. Use a door terminal in the room with a Multi-Melta, fight the Chaos wave and sorcerer in the round arena, then enter the tomb room with a sarcophagus in the middle. Look in the back-left corner (after the stairs, above the staircase before the banner gate), at the far back of the tomb chamber rather than the right-hand exit, possibly at the foot of a wall statue. Pressing on to 'Raise the Banner' loses it.
  3. Amount of Deceased on Demerium (Reliable). 'Advance to the Obelisk'. After the second warpfire gate / blue tunnel, keep to the right side into a small ruined chamber. The slate is beside a dead Tech-Priest behind rubble, near ammo boxes; go round the rubble on the right after the second Chaos-covered doorway.

Duty Without End

Act 2 – Operations (co-op)

Inferno (Kadaku)

  1. Amelioration of Improper Ordnance Storage (Reliable). Within the first few minutes in the swamp, before the main route climbs under a bridge: peel off to the broken bunker near the start of the area (turn around at the top of the slope, or go far right, or circle to the left side to enter). If you pass a burning pile or pipeline, turn round; or look back and to the left after the burning tank and spotlight walkway. The slate is on crates at the back of the bunker/hidden room; one spot is a crate to the left behind a half-open heavy door on the right.
  2. Admiration of Promethium (Reliable). After the refinery generator holdout, 'Advance to the Observation Platform'. Take the door, drop a ledge and climb the damaged stairs into the big flooded chamber. Take the ramp on the left (main path) and look in the alcove on its upper left where a white '2' is painted. It is on a table between machinery. Riding the elevator loses it.

Decapitation (Avarax)

  1. Final Sermon (Reliable). Shortly after the start, in the Tyranid-infested cathedral: climb the stairs, then a second flight, to the upper hallway/balcony before leaving the building. Look on the left side of the balcony, near the large double doors or a blocked door, instead of crossing the fallen wall to the next building. It is on the floor.
  2. Bridge Construction, Overseer Commentary (Check in game). During 'Pursue the Hive Tyrant', after the elevator and rooftops, in the cylindrical ventilation tunnel with big propellers. Check the shrine/small room on the right. If it isn't there, try the right corner after the first enemy group, behind a crate after the second left turn, or go left, right, left to a dead end on a toolbox. Other dead ends or corners with a box, crate, cabinet or tool chest: go right and then straight on; turn round once the Hive Tyrant is seen between the two fans and walk straight ahead; or look beyond the boxes at the back of the storage area. Do it before the second elevator.

Vox Liberatis (Avarax)

  1. Creation of Daemonhost, I (Check in game). Soon after the first elevator ride ('Find a Way to Take Down the Warp Shielding'). Follow the ramp/stairs to a dead end; the slate is in the room with the red light, on crates. Take the left path at the first fork; if it isn't there, go right first, then up stairs and left (a stack of crates).
  2. Creation of Daemonhost, II (Check in game). At the lowest level of the cathedral after the large circular lift (the holdout). Turn to the right of the lift: the slate is on a shelf/table, beside or on the stairs at the lowest level, on a box, table or terminal. If it isn't there, look left, near machinery by the Ammo Cache, or on a crate on the stairwell wall to the left, before the lift. Grab it before touching the yellow orb ahead.

Reliquary (Demerium)

  1. Servitor Greeting, Demerium (Reliable). Fight through the graveyards to the room with a ring of console terminals. Climb the stairs on the left of the console area; the slate is in the corner upstairs near candles.
  2. Heretic Attack, Demerium (Reliable). After the Heldrake bridge / outside the tomb, enter the cathedral-like building; turn right to a balcony and look in the corner. Left side has the stairs. If it isn't there, check the mid-bridge shelter's balcony, the observation tower after the Heldrake (ground-floor door on the right, crate on the deck; going up the left stairs loses it), a platform on the right in cover, or the first gatehouse on the bridge (right, then right again, on a crate).

Fall of Atreus (Demerium)

  1. Unauthorized Override Attempt (Reliable). 'Proceed to the Mechanicus Compound'. Use the crane terminal to clear the blockage, finish the holdout, drop down, then turn round and head for the far end of the room, the side facing away from the story path. The slate is behind you after the drop, by the drop-pod room, at the foot of a statue by a dead Tech-Priest; it may also be behind crates or pillars.
  2. Status: Battle Barge, Sword of Atreus (Reliable). In the mines at the large mining-rig chamber, climb the ramps (two concrete and three metal). Just before the top, turn left into an alcove/small storage area, onto a storage platform with crates or ammunition near the top of the ramps or silo; the slate is on crates/a case. The area is also called 'Manufactorum'. Going past the top drop loses it.

Ballistic Engine (Avarax)

  1. Missing Servo-Hauler (Reliable). After the first sandstorm segment and the door terminal into the depot, stay on the right. Take the first opening on the right into a small room and check the table. It is by a broken pipe. If it isn't there, check the second opening on the right too.
  2. War Preparation, Avarax (Reliable). 'Advance to the Train'. After the control-room terminal and two drops into the trainyard, find the parked tank, often covered in flesh, near the ammo cache. Stand beside it and look on crates or the ground.
