STAR WARS: Galactic Racer

Before you startNo permanent missables recorded
Difficulty
Starting on hardest is not required. Do not start on Champion: it unlocks only after your first Campaign clear and cuts the crash allowance. Learn on a gentler setting such as Cadet, then take only Act 3 on Champion for Racer of Legend.
Difficulty details

Gold on all 50 Arcade events demands precise runs, and several late goals need Champion difficulty or long, unforgiving Ramjet and Gauntlet builds. The Campaign itself is approachable on the gentler settings.

Missables
No permanently missable achievements recorded.
Missable details

Nothing is missable in the strict sense. Plan an Act 2 Gauntlet win with Clandestine Aid to avoid replaying Act 2.

Co-op
No co-op requirement recorded.
Online details

The store page lists online play, but none of the 49 achievements asks for it.

Save planning
Review the recorded save or replay precautions before advancing.
Read precautions

This is the longest achievement in the list. Save it for last, once Ramjet, Afterburner and the basic racing lines feel natural.

Unofficial STAR WARS: Galactic Racer 100% achievement guide: how to unlock all 49 achievements, with step-by-step directions and landmarks. Tick them off as you play.

Playthrough planner

A suggested six-stage order for all 49 achievements: one Campaign clear, Act 3 on Champion, two sets of cleanup tours, Gauntlet mastery and Arcade last. It is an easier order, not a proven minimum.

  • Autosave only: there are no manual saves, so a tour that goes wrong cannot be rolled back.
  • Restarting a tour is the usual way to get a better map or the Rival you need.
Playthrough 1 — First Campaign clear (any difficulty, about 10 hours)

Set up: Start a new Campaign on any difficulty you are comfortable with. Choose Racer Styles and Favors as they unlock.

Aim for: Learn the tracks, bank permanent unlocks and finish the three Acts. Clearing the Campaign once also unlocks Champion difficulty.

Leave for later: Everything that needs a specific map, build or Rival can wait for the cleanup tours.

Before moving on

  • Equip Clandestine Aid for Act 2; it cannot be equipped in Act 3, and the Act 2 Gauntlet is where it can win.
  • Talk to Hibi on the third planet of Act 1.
Playthrough 2 — Act 3 on Champion (about 5 hours)

Set up: Select Champion difficulty and start Act 3. You do not replay the earlier Acts on Champion.

Aim for: Win the Galactic League Championship against Kestar Bool on Champion.

Leave for later: Gauntlet and Arcade goals wait until the build is stronger.

Before moving on

  • Crashes do not refresh between events on Champion; only three return at each new planet, so build up Favors, Parts and Abilities first.
  • Take Field Test, Podracing Test, Mystery Encounter and Scrap Dealer nodes whenever the map offers them.
Playthrough 3 — Cleanup tours: race results, boosts and Abilities

Set up: Repeat short tours (Act 1 or Act 2). Rotate Racer Styles and Favors each tour.

Aim for: Collect the one-tour results, boost-state timers, Ability and parts goals.

Leave for later: Rival, Backer and Sidebet goals fit better with the next run.

Before moving on

  • Turn off Auto-Deactivate Ramjet only for the Risk, No Reward attempt and turn it back on afterwards.
  • Do not try Punch it, Shade! and Risk, No Reward in the same attempt.
Playthrough 4 — Cleanup tours: Styles, Favors, Rivals, Backers and Podracing

Set up: Repeat tours from Act 2 on. Restart tours until the map shows the Rival or Mystery Encounter you need.

Aim for: Unlock every Racer Style and Favor, beat every Rival, win Sidebets, collect Backer ratings and finish the Tales of Podracing.

Leave for later: Gauntlet wins can use the Styles and Favors from this run afterwards.

Before moving on

  • Pride of Gathleon is easiest on a tour that skips Mystery Encounters, Scrap Dealers and Field Tests.
  • Poodoo Racer needs you to finish last on a planet, so do not combine it with an Excellent rating attempt.
Playthrough 5 — Galactic Gauntlet mastery

Set up: Repeat Act 2 (rather than Act 3) to reach the Gauntlet faster; at least 14 wins are needed in total.

Aim for: Win the Galactic Gauntlet with all 14 Racer Styles, all 20 Favors and all three vehicle types.

Leave for later: Save Arcade for last.

Before moving on

  • Win an Act 2 Gauntlet with Clandestine Aid equipped before moving on.
  • Change the style, the Favors or the vehicle each time so every win counts toward something new.
Playthrough 6 — Arcade Gold times

Set up: Arcade mode; no Campaign progress is needed.

Aim for: Earn Gold in every base-game Arcade event.

Leave for later: Nothing is deferred past this stage; it is the last one.

Before moving on

  • Do this after you are comfortable with Ramjet, Afterburner and the basic racing lines.

100% achievement checklist

Arcade time trials

  1. Friendly Exhibition Race. Beat the Gold time in any one Arcade event.
    1. Start Arcade mode and choose any event.
    2. Read the event's objective first: some are plain races against other racers, some need a Frozen or Cooled state, some need perfect landings, and some need every checkpoint.
    3. Beat the Gold time once. A single event is enough for this achievement.
  2. Big Mystery Racer. Beat the Gold time in 50 Arcade events, which is every event in the base game.
    1. Work through the Arcade events one by one and beat the Gold time in each; the base game has 50.
    2. Events differ in what they ask for: racing other racers, holding Frozen or Cooled, landing perfectly, or crossing every checkpoint. Some Gold times tolerate small mistakes and others allow none.
    3. When a Gold time slips away, fix the line first (shortcuts, crashes, landings, braking, Ramjet heat) before changing your vehicle.
    4. Effort is uneven: expect roughly 15 to 30 minutes for most events, and far longer for the hardest, which can take dozens of attempts.
Watch out: Deluxe Edition owners: it isn't known yet whether the three extra Arcade events count toward the 50. Incomplete: The names and Gold times of the individual Arcade events are not written down in this guide yet.

Campaign story and Galactic League

  1. Impeding!. Join the Galactic League.
    1. Start a Campaign.
    2. Finish the first event; the invitation to join the Galactic League follows it.
  2. Qualified!. Become a qualified racer in the Galactic League by finishing Act 1, The Qualifier.
    1. Keep playing the Campaign through Act 1, The Qualifier.
    2. The achievement arrives when Act 1 is complete.
  3. Disqualified!. Defeat Kestar Bool in the Stadium Showdown that ends Act 2, The Galactic League.
    1. Complete Act 2, The Galactic League.
    2. Win the Stadium Showdown against Kestar Bool at the end of the Act.
  4. Shade! Shade! Shade!. Defeat Kestar Bool in the Galactic League Championship after Act 3.
    1. Play through Act 3 of the Campaign.
    2. Win the Galactic League Championship against Kestar Bool.

Campaign tours and race results

  1. That's How You Win Championships. Finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in six Eliminator races within one Campaign tour.
    1. Start a tour and look at the map for a route with at least six Eliminator races on it; restart the tour if the map does not offer one.
    2. Finish on the podium in six of them in that same tour.
    3. A Mystery Encounter involving Kestar Bool can turn some Standard races into Eliminators, which helps if the map is short on them.
    4. Cadet difficulty is the suggested setting for this attempt.
  2. Clean Sweep. Finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd in every event of one Campaign tour; completing a Field Test counts as a success for its event.
    1. Pick an early, short tour (Act 1 has 13 events, Act 2 has 18 and Act 3 has 22).
    2. Podium every Standard and Eliminator race and complete every Field Test.
    3. Take as many Mystery Encounter and Scrap Dealer stops as the map offers.
    4. Cadet difficulty is the suggested setting for this attempt.
  3. Risk, Reward. Finish 1st in an event against other racers without crashing.
    1. Choose a race against other racers.
    2. Drive conservatively, keep off walls and obstacles, and finish first with no crash.
    3. Cadet difficulty is the suggested setting for this attempt.
  4. Hunk of Junk. Finish 1st in an event with at least four Faulty Parts installed.
    1. Gather Faulty Parts. They come from Critical Malfunctions, from some Mystery Encounters, and from the Scrap Dealer.
    2. Have at least four installed at the same time.
    3. Win an event while all four are still installed; a familiar track and Cadet difficulty make this easier.
  5. Start Your Engines!. Successfully complete four Pre-Race Checks.
    1. Unlock at least three active Abilities.
    2. Turn on the Simple Pre-Race Checks option in the Accessibility settings to make the prompts easier.
    3. Using lower-level Abilities reduces the number of prompts in each check.
    4. Complete four checks successfully.
  6. That's Got to Hurt!. Wreck out of an event by using up all your crashes.
    1. Enter any event.
    2. Crash repeatedly until you have used every available crash and the event ends in a wreck-out.

Speed and boost states

  1. Speed is Dangerous, Embrace it Anyway. Keep Surge active for 60 seconds in a row.
    1. Use the Slipstreamer or Clean Racer Racer Style (both begin with Surge) or the Surging Autopilot ability.
    2. Add parts that feed Surge, such as Critical Hope, Critical Surging or Surplus Surging.
    3. Hold Surge without a gap for the full 60 seconds.
    4. If it does not pop straight away, it may appear at the start of the next event or at the end of the tour.
  2. The Most Dangerous Racing in the Galaxy. Stay Overcharged for 40 seconds in a row.
    1. Use the Tenacious style or a levelled Tech Expert, plus Overcharged parts and cooling parts such as Charging Coils, Overcharged Injector or Surplus Cooling.
    2. Overcharged Autopilot is another way to keep the state going.
    3. Hold Overcharged without a gap for 40 seconds.
    4. The achievement can pop at the start of the next event or at tour's end.
  3. Very Fast, Very Dangerous. Keep Afterburner active for 60 seconds in a row.
    1. Select the Afterburner Racer Style.
    2. Add parts that extend Afterburner, such as Afterburner Efficiency IV, Fuel Coolant IV, Fuel Vortexer IV or Underbody Intakes III.
    3. Hold Afterburner for the full 60 seconds without letting it drop.
    4. The achievement can pop at the start of the next event or at tour's end.
  4. Punch it, Shade!. Keep Ramjet active for 60 seconds in a row.
    1. Take a Ramjet Field Test node on the map.
    2. Keep Ramjet on for 60 seconds in a row; short bursts do not count.
    3. Do not combine this attempt with Risk, No Reward: that one needs Ramjet to overheat.
  5. Hibi's Speedies. Exceed 650 km/h in any Speeder.
    1. Use Ramjet, or Ramjet together with Surge.
    2. Add Ramjet Power parts if you fall short.
    3. Watch the speedometer and pass 650 km/h.
  6. Risk, No Reward. Blow up your vehicle by overheating your Ramjet.
    1. Open the settings and turn Auto-Deactivate Ramjet off; otherwise the game switches Ramjet off before it overheats.
    2. Run Ramjet until it overheats and the vehicle explodes.

Racer Styles

  1. Getting Started. Select a Racer Style.
    1. Finish your first tour.
    2. At the start of the second tour, pick any Racer Style.
  2. Raging Rancor. With the Brawler Racer Style, take down five racers in one Standard or Eliminator race.
    1. Unlock the Brawler style first (it needs 20 takedowns).
    2. Select Brawler for the tour.
    3. In a Standard race, ram and use Ion Bolt to take down five racers in the same race.
  3. Speed and Violence. With the Tech Expert Racer Style, hit five racers with Ion Bolt in one Standard or Eliminator race.
    1. Unlock the Tech Expert style first (it needs 80 uses of abilities).
    2. Get Ion Bolt, which comes from Sebulba's seventh Podracing event, Fear and Respect, or from an Ability Pack.
    3. Keep enough battery for five or more uses and stay close behind opponents.
    4. Hit five different racers with Ion Bolt in one race.
  4. One Hell of a Thrill. With the Redliner Racer Style, stay above 550 km/h for five seconds in one Standard or Eliminator race.
    1. Unlock the Redliner style first (it needs 375 seconds of Ramjet).
    2. Max out Ramjet.
    3. Find a long straight and hold above 550 km/h for five seconds.
  5. Skill, Strategy, and the Will to Rise. Unlock all 14 Racer Styles.
    1. Survivor: available from the start.
    2. Tenacious: four tour events (its unlock is not fully known yet). Redliner: 375 seconds of Ramjet. Brawler: 20 takedowns. Ramjet Rider: 950 seconds of Ramjet.
    3. Tech Expert: 80 ability uses. Engineer: 110 ability uses. Ice Cold: 160 ability uses.

    2. Talk to Hibi to receive his Favor.

    1. Unlock at least three Favors.
    2. When you start a tour, equip three of them together.
  3. Maybe We Can All Be Friends Someday!. Gain all 20 Favors.
    1. Clandestine Aid: complete Act 1. Mad Genius: complete two planets of Act 1. Gadgeteer: six Time Trial Field Tests.
    2. Feet First comes from either finishing Act 1 or the first Tales of Podracing event; the unlock is not settled, so check it in the Logbook. Old Greats: all Tales of Podracing events.
    3. Team Vranki, Deeper Pockets and Bloody Bounty: reach Derven Acos with a Satisfactory rating from the Hutt, Broker and Pirate Backers respectively.
    4. Preferred Customer: buy four parts from the Scrap Dealer. Smuggler's Hope: six Ramjet Field Tests. Unassuming Prodigy: two Precision Field Tests. Brutal Calm: two Battling Field Tests.
    5. Head-to-Head wins: Fan Club (Lyren Shok), Victorious Loser (Griff Halloran), Silent Defiance (Sen Fira), Family Legacy (Ary Quill), High Roller (Fola Kanjen).
    6. Mystery Encounter chains: Racer Roulette (Biddy Blas), Underhanded Upperhand (Malis Vazosk, payments of roughly 4,000 to 7,000 credits per meeting) and Second Chance (Katja Mox, which asks you to accept handicaps).
    7. Restart tours until the map shows useful Mystery Encounters, especially on the first planet.
Watch out: The Clandestine Aid Favor cannot be equipped in Act 3. Win an Act 2 Galactic Gauntlet with it equipped (see United by a Beautiful Dream). Incomplete: The exact prompts for each Mystery Encounter chain are not written down in this guide yet.

Rivalries and Sidebets

  1. First Time, Big Time. Win your first Rivalry Head-to-Head.
    1. From Act 2, place Sidebets on the same racer through a planet's events until they become your Rival.
    2. Accept the Head-to-Head challenge when it arrives and win it.
  2. Best of the Best. Beat every Racer in a Rivalry Head-to-Head: all 11 Rivals.
    1. Keep track of which of the 11 Rivals you have beaten; Rival colours on the vehicles show your progress.
    2. Restart tours until a racer you still need appears early, then complete the first planet to lock the Rivalry in.
    3. Beat each Rival in the Head-to-Head one or two planets after the Rivalry starts.
Incomplete: The names of the 11 Rivals are not written down in this guide yet; the Logbook shows who is left.
  3. I'll Take That Bet. Win 10 Sidebets.
    1. From Act 2, choose one of the three racers offered at each race and bet on them.
    2. Win ten of these bets over any number of tours.
  4. Beginner's Luck. Win a Sidebet against your current Rival.
    1. Place several Sidebets on the same racer during one planet (four events) to turn them into your Rival.
    2. Bet on that Rival in a later race and win the Sidebet.
  5. Gathii vs. Bool. Win a Sidebet against Kestar Bool.
    1. Wait for a race where Kestar Bool is one of the Sidebet options.

    1. Choose a Backer in Act 2.
    2. Place well and meet the Contract until a rating of Excellent comes through.
  2. Poodoo Racer. Have a Backer rate you as Poor.
    1. Ignore the Backer's Contract.
    2. Finish last in every event of a planet.
  3. Pride of Gathleon. Earn an Excellent Tour rating from each of the three Backers.
    1. Act 2 has four planets before Derven Acos, and Act 3 has five.
    2. Pick the easiest Contracts: for the Hutt, Pre-Race Checks and activating Abilities; for the Pirate, Redline and time spent in last place; for the Broker, time at high speed and Double-Overtakes.
    3. Skip Mystery Encounters, Scrap Dealers and Field Tests on these tours, because they do not advance Contracts.
    4. Keep track of which Backers you have done.

Abilities

  1. Many Special Treasures. Use every Ability once.
    1. Collect Abilities from Ability Packs, from certain Racer Styles, and from Sebulba's Podracing events.
    2. Use each of the nine Abilities at least once in a race.
  2. Record-Setting Pit Droid Team. Upgrade any Ability to its maximum level.
    1. Get an Ability.
    2. Buy two upgrades for the same Ability from Ability Packs to take it to level 3.
  3. Four Arms Would Be Useful. Equip four Abilities at the same time.
    1. Take new Abilities over upgrades until you have four.
    2. Equip all four before the tour.

Vehicles, upgrades and parts

    1. On the vehicle select screen, open the customization option, or walk up to your vehicles on a planet.

  2. The Real Soul of Racing. Raise two vehicle Upgrades to maximum level within one tour.

    2. Buy upgrade packs for those same two stats until both are at maximum in the same tour.
  3. The Fastest Ever Built. Have four Legendary Parts installed at once.
    1. Collect Legendary Parts: three from a Scrap Dealer node, occasionally from Mystery Encounters, or by upgrading an equipped level 3 part at Hibi's Shop.
    2. Install four of them at the same time.
  4. Treasures, Treasures!. Buy every available Part at the Scrap Dealer in one visit.
    1. Visit a Scrap Dealer with plenty of credits.
    2. Buy every part on offer, including the three Legendary Faulty Parts, before leaving.
  5. Might as Well Buy a New Speeder. Buy every available Part at Hibi's Shop in one visit.
    1. Remove any Faulty Parts at the Scrap Dealer.
    2. Visit Hibi's Shop with enough credits; Smuggler's Hope lowers the price of one part.
    3. Buy all four parts in that one visit.

Tales of Podracing and Scenarios

  1. Now This is Podracing!. Complete the first Tales of Podracing event.
    1. Look for Sebulba on foot on a planet from Act 2 onward.
    2. Accept a Tales of Podracing event and complete it. The first event is named Memories of Mos Espa.
  2. Hail to the Winner, Sebulba. Complete all 12 Tales of Podracing events.
    1. Finish 1st and also meet the secondary objective in each of the 12 events.
    2. If you fail an event, meet Sebulba again to retry it.
    3. The seventh event, Fear and Respect, unlocks Ion Bolt. The final event is The Harder They Fall.
Incomplete: The names of 9 of the 12 Podracing events are not written down in this guide yet.
  3. Racing Glory. Complete a Scenario.
    1. Start a Scenario and complete all five of its races.
Incomplete: Where to start a Scenario from the menus is not written down in this guide yet.

Galactic Gauntlet

Point of no return: Clandestine Aid can only be used in the Act 2 Gauntlet.

  1. I Can Fly Anything. Win the Galactic Gauntlet with each speeder type.
    1. Unlock the Speeder Bike and Skim Speeder with Tuning Points.
    2. Win the Gauntlet once with each of the three vehicle types.
  2. Racing Master. Win the Galactic Gauntlet with each Racer Style.
    1. Unlock all 14 Racer Styles first.
    2. Win the Gauntlet with a different style each time; the Logbook shows a style as Mastered when done.
  3. United by a Beautiful Dream. Win the Galactic Gauntlet with each of the 20 Favors.
    1. Gain all 20 Favors first.
    2. Win the Gauntlet with three new Favors equipped each time, until every Favor shows Mastered.
    3. Win an Act 2 Gauntlet with Clandestine Aid equipped; it cannot be equipped in Act 3.
    4. To save time, you can repeat the Act 2 Gauntlet: after the Gauntlet, lose the final Kestar Bool race on purpose to return to the start of Act 2.
Watch out: Clandestine Aid cannot be equipped in Act 3, so use it for an Act 2 Gauntlet win or you will have to replay Act 2.

Champion difficulty

  1. Racer of Legend. Defeat Kestar Bool in the Galactic League Championship on Champion difficulty.
    1. Clear the Campaign once on any difficulty to unlock Champion.
    2. Start Act 3 on Champion and win the Championship against Kestar Bool.
    3. On Champion, crashes do not refresh after each event; only three come back when a new planet starts.
    4. Take Field Test, Podracing Test, Mystery Encounter and Scrap Dealer nodes when you can, because they cannot cost you crashes or tokens.
    5. Standard races are safer than Eliminators, since a poor finish still advances you if you do not wreck out.
    6. The Mad Genius Favor adds two extra crashes, Tenacious adds one, and Gadgeteer frees up part slots. Victorious Loser, when upgraded, pays credits regardless of finishing position.
