Valheim achievements (version 1.0.16)

Meadows: arrival and the first boss

  1. I Have Arrived! (Reliable). Create a world and spawn into it for the first time. This unlocks when you arrive at the Sacrificial Stones, the world's starting point, so nothing else is required.
  2. Eikthyr (Reliable). Defeat Eikthyr, the Lightning Stag, the first boss. Collect two Deer Trophies, put both on his altar in the Meadows, then fight him when he appears.
  3. Stronger Together (Reliable). Kill any boss while a friend is fighting it too. Both of you need to damage the boss, and the two players need different names. Eikthyr is the easiest choice.
  4. Lone Wolf (Reliable). Kill any boss as the only player who damages it. Eikthyr is the easiest choice, and you can do it right after the co-op kill.

Black Forest

  1. The Elder (Reliable). Defeat The Elder, the Living Forest boss. Put three Ancient Seeds on his altar in the Black Forest and fight him there. He is weak to fire.

Swamp

  1. Bonemass (Reliable). Defeat Bonemass, the Writhing Dead. Put ten Withered Bones on his altar in the Swamp and fight him there. He is weak to blunt and frost damage.
  2. The Treasure Hunter (Reliable). Dig up and open ten buried treasure chests. Equip the Wishbone from Bonemass and walk around until it dings and shows green puffs, then dig on the spot where the signal is strongest.

Mountain

  1. Moder (Reliable). Defeat Moder, the Dragon Mother. Put three Dragon Eggs on her altar in the Mountains and fight her there. She is weak to fire.

Plains

  1. Yagluth (Reliable). Defeat Yagluth, the Twisted Soul. Put five Fuling Totems on his altar in the Plains and fight him there.

Mistlands

  1. The Seeker Queen (Reliable). Defeat The Seeker Queen, the Crawling Matriarch, in her Infested Citadel in the Mistlands. Craft a Sealbreaker to open the citadel, then fight her inside. The first fight needs no offering.

Ashlands

  1. Fader (Reliable). Defeat Fader, the Emerald Flame, in the Ashlands. Craft three Bells, place them around his coliseum-like altar, and fight him there.
  2. Odin is Pleased (Reliable). Defeat all five minibosses: Brenna, Geirrhafa, Zil and Thungr (two fighters), and Lord Reto. Find Hildir in the Meadows, read her map table to mark the first three dungeons, and then work your way to the Ashlands tomb of Lord Reto. Watch out: Lord Reto is a two-star enemy that can kill you in a single hit even with the best armour and food, so don't rely on blocking and stay out of his reach when he feints.
  3. The Chosen One (Reliable). Assemble the sword Dyrnwyn. Collect its hilt, blade and tip fragments, then craft it at a level 4 Black Forge with 20 Flametal and 1 Bloodstone.

Deep North and boss clears

  1. Kall Fimbulbringer (Reliable). Defeat Kall Fimbulbringer, the Shackled One, the eighth and final boss. Bring three Malicious Blood to the Strange Bowl in the Prison, which is reached through an Aesir Passage in the Deep North. He appears 12 seconds after you offer them.
  2. The Viking (Reliable). Defeat all eight bosses on any difficulty. This unlocks on its own once every boss achievement is done.
  3. The Tough Viking (Reliable). Defeat all eight bosses on Normal difficulty or higher (Normal, Hard or Very Hard). It unlocks on its own once you have beaten them all on those settings.
  4. The Toughest Viking (Reliable). Defeat all eight bosses on Hard difficulty (Hard or Very Hard). Playing the whole run on Hard saves a second trip through the bosses.

Building and comfort

  1. The Homesteader (Reliable). Build a house. You need six floor pieces, eight walls, four roof pieces, and one each of furniture, lighting and storage (a chest counts as storage).
  2. The Architect (Reliable). Build a village. Place at least 10 buildings, 40 floors, 40 walls, 20 roofs, 10 architecture pieces, 10 pieces of furniture, 5 lights and 5 decorations, all near each other.
  3. The Builder (Reliable). Place 500 building pieces. Normal base-building gets you there, so you rarely need to build extra just for the count.
  4. Mighty Halls (Reliable). Build something very tall: place a piece at least 49 metres above the ground. At least five of your own pieces need to be directly beneath it, and more than 45% of the pieces under it must have been built by you.
  5. Top of the World (Check in game). Build something very high up: place a piece at an altitude of at least 432 metres. Pick a tall mountain and build on the summit. At least five of your own pieces must be directly under the new piece, and more than 45% of them must be built by you.
  6. The Carpenter (Check in game). Build one of every piece in the Hammer menu. This includes furniture, crafting stations, material piles and stacks, boats, portals, traps and the seasonal pieces. You can take each piece down after building it and reuse the materials. Watch out: Seasonal pieces can only be built inside their date windows. The Maypole is available from 1 June to 6 July. The Jack-o-turnip is available from 1 October to 6 November. The Yule Tree, wreath, garland, mistletoe and Yuleklapp are available from 1 December to 6 January. These dates were checked on 3 October 2026, and the Halloween window is open now.
  7. Comfort is King (Reliable). Reach a comfort level of 20. Build one room and fill it with the best comfort piece from each category: a Hearth, a Dragon Bed, a good rug, a table, a throne, a banner and extra decor.

Farming, gathering and food

  1. The Forager (Reliable). Pick 250 berries and 250 mushrooms. Each time you pick from a bush or a growing mushroom counts once, not each item you receive.
  2. The Farmer (Reliable). Harvest 500 crops. Keep replanting and harvesting, because regrown crops count toward the total.
  3. The Beekeeper (Reliable). Harvest 500 honey. Set up several beehives early and let them fill slowly.
  4. The Lumberjack (Reliable). Cut down 500 trees. Use your best axe and let base-building and wood runs fill the count.
  5. The Cook (Reliable). Cook 100 dishes. Cook regularly during normal play. Placing several cooking stations over one fire cooks several things at once, but watch the timer so food doesn't burn.
  6. No Adventuring On an Empty Stomach (Reliable). Eat 500 items of food. Keep your food buffs up during normal play. Berries and mushrooms count, and they overlap with The Forager.
  7. The Master Chef (Reliable). Cook every kind of dish. Make each recipe at least once, from the simplest cooked meat to the Ashlands and Deep North dishes.
  8. The Gourmet (Reliable). Eat every kind of edible item. Eat each food at least once, including raw ingredients and mushrooms.

Crafting

  1. The Blacksmith (Reliable). Craft every kind of weapon. Make one of each weapon type as you unlock it, including the Harpoon, the Silver Knife and the Torch.
  2. The Artisan (Reliable). Craft every kind of item. Save the last items for the late game, when every crafting station and material is available.

Hunting and fishing

  1. The Hunter (Reliable). Kill every kind of creature at least once. Kill everything you meet as you move through the biomes, and check what you are still missing.
  2. The Master Hunter (Reliable). Kill every kind of creature on Hard difficulty (Hard or Very Hard). Playing on Hard from the start lets this build up while you play.
  3. The Trophy Collector (Reliable). Collect every trophy. Each creature drops its trophy only some of the time, so keep killing until you have one of each. Bosses always drop theirs.
  4. The Fisherman (Reliable). Catch every kind of fish. Reel each one in with a fishing rod: Perch, Pike, Tuna, Trollfish, Giant Herring, Tetra, Grouper, Anglerfish, Pufferfish, Coral Cod, Magmafish and Northern Salmon.
  5. A Catch Worthy of Njord (Reliable). Catch a four-star fish. It is a random chance, so keep fishing, and reel it in with the rod.

Sailing and exploring

  1. The Explorer (Reliable). Travel far in all four directions. You need to get within about 150 metres of the world edge to the north, south, east and west.
  2. The Pathfinder (Unconfirmed). Travel far in all four directions without a map. Turn on the No Map world modifier and reach all four edges while it is on.
  3. The Sailor (Reliable). Sail a total of about 131,946 metres, enough to circle the world twice. Passengers on a friend's ship count too.
  4. The Captain (Reliable). Sail a total of about 65,973 metres while steering the ship yourself, enough to circle the world once.
  5. The Legends Are True (Reliable). Sail over the edge of the world. Keep going out to sea until you fall off. You can't get your gear back, so bring only what you can afford to lose.
  6. No Time For Snoozing (Reliable). Wake a sea creature by mining its barnacles. Find a Leviathan in the ocean, mine its Abyssal Barnacles until it shakes and sinks, and stay close to its centre until it is under.

Dying and surviving

  1. The First of Many (Reliable). Die once. This comes on its own the first time you die.
  2. Accidents Happen (Reliable). Get killed by a falling tree. Chop a tree and stand in the path of its fall.
  3. That Can't Be an Accident (Reliable). Get killed by every kind of tree. There are ten: beech, birch, oak, fir, pine, the swamp tree (Ancient Tree), the Yggdrasil shoot, the Ashlands tree (Scorched Tree), the snow fir and the snow pine.
  4. Obliterated (Reliable). Get killed by an Obliterator. Place the device in a safe spot, stand close to it and activate it so the blast hits you.
  5. Are You Alright? (Reliable). Die in all 16 possible ways. You need to be killed by an enemy, a falling tree, fall damage, drowning, burning, freezing, poison, smoke, a falling stalactite in the Frost Caves, Ashlands boiling water, lava, a ballista, a catapult, an Obliterator, a drawbridge, and by falling off the world edge.
  6. The Survivor (Reliable). Survive for 30 consecutive in-game days without dying. Fortify your base and stay safe. Sleeping in a bed skips the dangerous night and still moves the day count forward.

Completion

  1. Kings and Queens of Valheim (Check in game). Unlock The Viking, The Hunter, The Artisan, The Master Chef, The Carpenter and The Explorer. It unlocks by itself afterwards.
  2. Child of Odin (Reliable). Unlock The Toughest Viking, The Master Hunter, The Survivor and The Pathfinder. It unlocks by itself afterwards.
